Application notes
Double clad fiber couplers are a versatile technology that can be used in a variety of applications. However, that can be tricky to implement and some additional practical aspects need to be considered when designing your system. On this page, we provide application notes written by the Castor Optics' team on how to use our couplers for specific applications.

WHITE PAPER: On combining optical coherence tomography with fluorescence imaging using a double-clad fiber coupler
October 30, 2018
Double-clad fibers (DCFs) are versatile waveguides supporting a single-mode core surrounded by a multimode inner cladding. DCFs are increasingly used for multimodal biomedical applications, such as imaging or therapy, for which the core is typically used for coherent illumination and the inner cladding, to support a concurrent modality. In this paper, we present how to seamlessly combine optical coherence tomography (OCT) with fluorescence imaging using a double-clad fiber coupler.
